Classifying and Comparing

Being able to categorise or classify gives us a way to describe things to others, and to form connections between objects or ideas. We form categories by identifying similarities and differences between objects or ideas. Categorization provides organization and it helps with the storage and retrieval of information, thereby greatly aiding vocabulary and language growth.

These auditory association exercises target listening, vocabulary and association skills. The tasks compare and contrast objects and animals using visual and auditory information. By strengthening word connections, a child can acquire new vocabulary with greater ease.
