Spotting Key Information Level 1 – 2

Summarising builds reading comprehension and cuts through the confusion of written text. Summarising teaches the student to reduce a text into main points by focusing on key words and phrases that support the central theme/s. Being able to identify and rephrase key points of information is fundamental to learning and studying.

This is a tiered programme, teaching a step-by-step approach in identifying a paragraph’s subject and key information. Initially, paraphrasing examples are given to build up confidence but ultimately, your student will learn to paraphrase themselves.
